Our journey started on a Wednesday morning,
It was a huge surprise and without any warning.

After two whole days of anticipation and tears,
We realised and understood our biggest fears.

We were soon enough sent to your place of birth,
The place we felt was the scariest on earth.

For 9 days we waited for you to arrive,
And at 24 weeks, you were here, determied to survive.

The instant love we felt when we met you,
Just grew and felt so beautifully true.

Our journey soon took us to Manchester,
Where you began to grow faster and faster.

Some days were good, and some were bad,
But no matter what, your being here made us glad.

We knew you were in the safest hands,
And it's broken our hearts to know you will no longer be part of our plans.

And so you decided one morning that it was your time,
You'd completed your biggest and most bravest climb.

So now let's celebrate you our baby boy,
For you will forever bring us joy.

You've left us now but that's okay,
Because here in our hearts is where you'll stay.

And eventually we will start to smile,
Even if it does take us a little while.
